- Two-Hour Fire Rating: Successfully tested according to ASTM E814 standards, the DGT hanger maintains a two-hour fire-resistance rating for both 2x4 and 2x6 walls, ensuring compliance with stringent building codes.
- Efficient Installation: Designed for use with power nailers, this hanger allows for quick and secure attachment before drywall installation, streamlining construction timelines.
- Drywall Accommodation: The top-flange design provides space for two layers of 5/8" gypsum board to be installed after framing, preserving the integrity of fire-rated wall assemblies.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for back-to-back installation on minimum 2x6 walls, offering flexibility in various construction scenarios.
Installation:
- Fasteners: Use all specified fasteners as per the manufacturer's guidelines. The hanger is compatible with both 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" power-driven or hand-installed nails.
- Mounting: Install the DGT hanger similarly to standard top-flange hangers. Ensure that stud wall-plate splices occur at stud locations for optimal support.
- Additional Support: For I-joist applications, web stiffeners are required to maintain structural integrity.
- Steel Header Installation: When attaching to a steel header, weld the DGT hanger using four 1/8" x 1-1/2" fillet welds and secure with six joist nails to achieve a download capacity of 1,700 lbs. Ensure face flanges have full backing.
