The Simpson Strong-Tie EG Heavy Beam and Glulam Top-Flange Hanger is a high-capacity connector meticulously designed to support engineered wood beams, including heavy beams and glulam members. Its robust construction and versatile design make it suitable for various applications in wood construction projects.
Key Features:
- High Load Capacity: The EG hanger boasts one of the highest allowable loads among Simpson Strong-Tie hangers, ensuring reliable support for substantial structural elements.
- Funnel Flange Design: Incorporates a Funnel Flange feature that guides the beam into place, facilitating accurate and efficient installation.
- Versatile Configuration: Available with or without top flanges to capture the top chord of the beam, preventing rotation. This adaptability allows customization based on specific application needs.
- Adjustable Seat Options: The EG hanger can be skewed or sloped up to 45°, accommodating various design requirements. The maximum allowable load for a skewed seat is 14,250 lb., and for a sloped seat, it is 9,665 lb.
Material and Finish:
- Material: Constructed with a 7-gauge stirrup and a 3-gauge top flange, providing exceptional strength and durability.
- Finish: Standard finish is Simpson Strong-Tie gray paint. Some models are available hot-dip galvanized or can be special ordered with a black powder coat for enhanced corrosion resistance or aesthetic preferences.
