The Simpson Strong-Tie MEG Medium Beam and Glulam Top-Flange Hanger is engineered to provide robust support for engineered wood beams in medium-load applications. This hanger features top flanges designed to capture the top chord of the beam, preventing rotation; however, it can be ordered without these flanges depending on specific application needs.
Key Features:
- Design Flexibility: The MEG hanger can be skewed or sloped up to 45°, offering adaptability in various construction scenarios. When not skewed, it may be offset left or right for placement at the end of a header. The Funnel Flange design guides the beam into place, facilitating easy installation.
- Material and Finish: Constructed with a 7-gauge stirrup and top flange, the MEG hanger ensures durability and structural integrity. It comes standard with a Simpson Strong-Tie gray paint finish; some products are available hot-dip galvanized.
Customization Options:
- Skewed Seat: The MEG can be skewed up to 45°, with a maximum allowable load of 10,000 lb.
- Sloped Seat: The MEG can be sloped up to 45°, with a maximum allowable load of 9,665 lb.
- Offset Top Flange: The MEG top flange may be offset left or right for placement at the end of a header. The maximum allowable load is 5,665 lb. (Min. H = 11"). No skews are allowed on offset hangers. Models are available without top flanges; see table loads.
NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values
